Story of a girl

From 01.12.2020

If I hadn't experienced it personally, I would think it was a film from the "drama" genre. It is the story of a little girl from India who has found a new identity in the meantime. Little Madhuri (estimated age 4 - 5) was picked up by the local police on the streets of Trivandrum, in the south of India.
She was dancing in front of passers-by to get some money or something to eat. Alone! No parent, no sibling, no friend near her.
She told the police that she had been on the train for days. From where exactly she couldn't say, but it was clear: the train came from the north of India.
She was taken to the orphanage at St. Johns Hospital, which proved to be a stroke of luck for her. It soon became clear that she was HIV infected. Just as quickly it became clear that we would take over the sponsorship. In the meantime she is well, has settled in well, is learning Malayalam and English and is the "sunshine" among the children. Whenever the opportunity arises, she dances. For herself and the other children.

Visit of the orphanage on 24.11.2019 in Trivandrum, South India

From 10.11.2020

In November 2020 I was able to visit the children of the orphanage in Trivandrum, South India. Excited and lively was the reception, I surprised them during a practice lesson for the programme of the upcoming Christmas.

Afterwards I attended a small service held by Fr. José (director of St. John's). We took this opportunity to hand over food packages with rice, beans and spices to the poorest of the poor. We had promised this support before my departure.

Afterwards the children performed rehearsed dances to traditional music. Immediately I noticed a little girl who danced so well as if she had never done anything else before. But she had a heavy fate. She travelled alone by train from North to South India, was picked up by the police on the street and brought to the orphanage.

Pocahontas, Winnetou and Meeko

From 10.11.2020

In the meantime our holiday camp at the Beetzsee has become a tradition. This year again, 20 children from Finsterwalde and the surrounding area were able to swim, climb, cook, do handicrafts, canoe, play volleyball and much more for one week in fantastic summer weather. Awakened and adventurous, the children supported Pocahontas, Winnetou and Meeko when it came to finding the valuable tomahawk. After all, it has magical powers! And so Henry Maske did not miss the opportunity to pay the children a visit. After all, he has...these magical powers!

Visit to orphanage India 2017

From 10.11.2020

For 8 years now we have been working side by side with Fr. José from Trivandrum for the welfare of the orphans. A good life despite HIV infection is the result of my last visit in November 2017. 37 orphans have found a home there so far and are growing up in orderly conditions. More children live with relatives and come to school every day on the grounds of St. John Hospital. Thanks to the sponsorships of private persons, medical care, healthy food, accommodation and clothing are possible. At this point we would like to thank you for your commitment!

Pirates conquer the Beetzsee

From 10.11.2020

Fun, games and new friends was the motto for 20 children from Finsterwalde and the surrounding area in the last week of July 2017. This year's motto at the camp of the perspective factory was "Throw anchor, set sail". Our caretakers Heike, Eva and Justine collected stardust with children for the mermaid Arielle, treasures were sought for Captain Sparrow, pirate pizza was baked in the wood oven. There was climbing, handicrafts, fishing, rowing, new adventures were cooked up. Even though the summer weather was not so good on some days, little pirates are not intimidated.

Visiting the orphanage in 2016

From 10.11.2020

In November 2016 I was once again there to visit the children at the orphanage of St. John´s Hospital in Trivandrum, India. Meanwhile, with help from sponsors, our foundation looks after over more than 20 HIV-infected children. With an annual subscription of 240 € everything is covered… from accommodation, food, clothing, education to essential medication. It was good to see, that the money was spent where it was really needed. Every single Euro! The children are doing well, they have a good life.
Carolin from Bonn took over a sponsorship three years ago for little Sanu and accompanied me on my visit.

Holiday camp 2016

From 10.11.2020

A week of fun, great activities and workshops has come to an end for the 20 children from Finsterwalde and the surrounding area. Many friendships were made, many adventures were experienced. The motto of this year's holiday camp in the PerspektivFabrik at Beetzsee was: THE GALLIERS ARE BACK! "Who would have thought that the Romans and Slavs were in cahoots and that the rowing competition on Lake Beetzsee was just an excuse to lure the Gauls into a trap. Miraculix is in the Far East and cannot brew the much needed magic potion. Asterix, Obelix and their friends have conquered a camp on the lake. They can use any reinforcements to fight for freedom together. The Gauls want to go back!"

Lesbos-Report

From 10.11.2020

Most of the boats arrive north of the island between Eftalou and Sikamias where the beaches are shallow and the boats can beach easily. Numerous dinghies, life vests and empty water bottles are stacked up on the beaches. The refugees are, more often than not, in wet clothing, frozen, hungry and exhausted. The Boat Refugee Foundation Netherlands, based in Eftalou, with the assistance of volunteers, provides the initial basic care. This is how the refugees get water, fresh fruit, dry clothing, and if necessary, medical care.

Holiday trips

From 10.11.2020

Every year we send children from socially deprived families on summer holidays. Unfortunately, child poverty is a topic in Germany which must be given more attention in the future. Often the children of these families sit "at home" during the holiday season, while their schoolmates and their families gather many experiences somewhere during their holidays.
